A huge part of self-care is showing yourself kindness each and every day. This means taking time out for you to catch your breath, check-in with yourself and make any quick u-turns needed to improve you day and quality of life. I know for many this is hard to remember, or perhaps it is not even part of your daily routine yet. In either case, I have rounded up ten ways you can stop right this minute and show yourself some kindness in the next 5-minutes.
1.Close Your Eyes & Breathe
It almost sounds too simple to be true. Just humour me, and stop what you are doing for a moment. Let your eyes fall closed blocking out the world. Breathe nice and deep through your nose, hold it in your belly and then let go.
Allow all your stress, built up tension and frustrations of the day to expel with your breath. Just stay here for a moment. Allow you body to fully stop, be still and then carry on your way again. This technique is very powerful if you add a positive affirmation to it. Breathe in and think of your affirmation. Expel your breath is a steady whoosh, then affirm your positive statement.
